Epidemiology of Colony Collapse Disorder

Yeah, I know it's a fruit blog, not an entomology blog, but bees are pretty intimately entwined with fruit.

The New York Times has a pretty cool op-ed on the mathematical epidemiology (epizoology?) of Colony Collapse Disorder, which offers a bit of hope that this isn't the end to honey bees:
