Bramley's Seedling Bicentennial

Happy Birthday Bramley's Seedling--200 years old in 2009 (Fruit Forum)

There's even a collection of features and events in honor of the occasion (even what they claim is the first "video pie-cast").

That is one old apple tree. I was under the impression that after about 40 years the productivity of older fruit bearing trees declines.

Also, your link is broken...

http://fruitforum.wordpress.com/2008/12/07/centenarian-bramley-trees/

As far as I can tell it doesn't end in .htm...

Yeah, I think that's generally true. Trees accumulate injuries and dead wood over time, and eventually they just get so big that most of the plants resources are being used just to support the giant tree.

The link works fine for me... You don't have to end in .htm necessarily...if you just put the directory it'll load the default HTML file in that directory.
